More than 52,000 children from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras have been caught flowing across the border alone since last October - more than double the number of a year ago - fleeing from poverty and violence in their hone countries. ALGONA- The Alta-Aurelia Warriors baseball team competed in the district finals game on Saturday. The Warriors lost 7-2 to Bishop Garrigan, ending their journey to state. Stabbing charges upped to Attempted Murder (Local News ~ 07/21/14)
Additional charges have been filed in a stabbing incident that occurred in Sioux Rapids July 9, where Pedro Orozco was charged initially with Willful Injury. After further review by the county attorney's office, Orozco has now been charged with Attempted Murder. The victim in the case remained hospitalized early this week.
