Robert "Bob" Green, age 72, of Lake View, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, following a courageous 19 year battle with cancer. Bob was born on June 14, 1941, in Smithland, to Dale and Vera (Huffman) Green. He attended school in Smithland. On January 7, 1959, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Thomas J. Gary out of Newport, Rhode Island as a boiler room helper.
