Craig Pierce, a custodian for 14 years, holds a special memory of his days spent at the elementary schools and perhaps many children remember the man who cared for their school during their time there. Zoning for new industry on hold (Local News ~ 02/21/14)
At a County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 18 Farm Nutrients hoped to be approved to be a commercial zoning area. Instead, the third reading, that would have approved the zoning ordinance, occurred with no agreement yet signed. Local citizens expressed their concerns with what could happen in a large rain event or if the smell of chicken litter was to waft over to their land... -
Child abduction attempt reported (Local News ~ 02/21/14)
An alleged attempted abduction has been reported in Storm Lake. A man with a dark beard and glasses reportedly approached a 7 year old child Friday afternoon. The child ran away to a neighboring home and a parent was summoned. The child was not hurt. Officers are investigating, looking for a newer gray sedan with a black dog inside. Anyone with information is urged to contact police...
