Up and coming senior fitness class reducing falls

A senior fitness class is making it's way to Storm Lake starting next week. Lake Pointe Villa and Ostego Place will be hosting the class designed to "reduce the amount of falls" by focusing on overall strength, flexibility, and balance. One Storm Lake family's roots go back to a time when the United States was on the brink of collapse, the Civil War. Benjamin Franklin Whitehouse is famous within the Whitehouse family having been a soldier in the Civil War and Indian Wars. His grandson, George Whitehouse, moved to Storm Lake after retiring and began to delve deeper into who his grandfather was and calls his grandfather "100 percent patriot."... -

After researching the lake the summer of 2013 the Iowa State research group has presented their ideas to the Department of Natural Resources and are now "refining" their finds. Ideas included adding additional islands in the lake, tree belts, and rock jetties...
