There is a movement underway at the Statehouse to repeal the law declaring English as an the Official Language of the state. "I think it has given Iowa a bad name in the immigrant community and elsewhere around the country with that law on our books," said Democrat Rep. Genesis Development: Pingel to take over as SL site director (01/29/09)
Beginning Feb. 1 Sandy Pingel, current Program Director at Genesis Development in Storm Lake will be taking over Genesis' vacant site director position left by Cindy Wiemold. Wiemold resigned from Genesis after 10 years to become the Executive Director at Faith Hope and Charity. Wiemold started her new position this month at FHC and with the help of Former FHC Director Tom Daniels, the two will be working together to make the transition a smooth one...
