Students earn bikes (04/11/06)
Tina Loving and Amy Cords of Storm Lake Middle School, along with Andrew Chindlund of St. Mary's, were the top three ticket sellers for the Knights of Columbus omelet breakfast which benefitted the DARE program in Storm Lake. In recognition of their efforts, McDonalds, Burger King and Chesterman's donated bikes. Chindlund received his bike at an earlier presentation, Loving and Cords received their bikes last week, presented by McDonald's manager Janet Dandeneau and officer Pete Erickson...

The Greater Storm Lake Area Jaycees are once again working to raise funds for a local worthy cause. The group met Tuesday, April 4, to sort and package the garbage bags they will be selling for their upcoming fundraiser. Their project this spring will benefit Habitat for Humanity. The local Jaycees are conducting the garbage bag sales independently this year and are asking for the public's help to ensure success...

Alta's Kyle Sauter won the 110 high hurdles and Quentin Thomas won the 200 meter dash here Saturday afternoon, as the Cyclones took second place in the small school division of the Tomahawk Relays.
