When Dave and Kelli Sanders of rural Alta went to bed Monday night, little did they know what they would learn then they woke up in the middle of the night. Sometime between 11 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday, someone entered their barn and let our their herd of 12 horses. It was not the first, nor the second, but the third time that it had happened over the past two years. This time, it was deadly, with three horses killed, two cars wrecked and two people taken to the hospital...

Busy year in Legislature; telecom and environment top list (02/21/05)
This session has probably been the busiest one in the years I have served in the Legislature. The sub-committee meeting lists are many, and the time spent in those meetings is long and sometimes tedious, but they do serve to reduce the amount of time necessary to present a bill in the standing committee and limits the debate on the floor. In-depth, bi-partisan work on a bill pays off in the long term. This has been the pattern for most of the committee work this year...
