Balloon Days activities set to 'Let Freedom Fly' (08/27/02)
The final touches are being made to the Great Iowa Balloon Race plans this week. "Let Freedom Fly" is the theme for the 2002 event, with over 30 hot air balloons flying Labor Day weekend in Storm Lake. Then I went to Pronto on the southwest corner of town, where I found a price of $1.39.9. That is $.06 per gallon less! The price in Lakeside was $1.43.9. Casey's in Alta was $1.39.9. The facility being billed as an "unzoo" will be Iowa's newest non-attraction. Ground will be broken this fall on the $10 million Iowa Primate Learning Sanctuary on the site of an old gravel pit in southeast Des Moines.
