Don't wait for a holiday

Posted Monday, December 12, 2011, at 3:31 PM

I realize that Thanksgiving has already passed us by, but who says that we need the holiday to share those things that we deem worth being thankful for?

First and foremost I am thankful for my faith and the belief that our savior has given so much for us and that I believe in Heaven and that I will someday be reunited with those that have gone before me.

I am thankful that my parents have raised me to be a respectful, kind and considerate person. I am not without sin, in no way perfect, but the values that my parents have instilled in me are the very same that I had taught my offspring. I must say that they are great listeners and that they practice what I preach. Therefore I am thankful for my wonderful children. God has given me some rather great kids. Don't get me wrong, there are those times where... but all in all I consider myself to be very blessed to be able to claim them as my own.

I shall not forget my wonderful grandchildren. Every single one of them bring me such joy! I am so thankful that they all came into this world without complications and that they are all very healthy. Not much compares to the sound of Madison screaming "Grandma" as she runs to give me a hug...and this happens every time that she sees me. Don't get me wrong, each and every one of them has their own greeting for me, right down to the youngest one, Cash. He may not talk as of yet, but the look in his eyes and the little grin on his young face when I chat with him is enough to reinforce the fact that he too loves his G-ma!

Let us not leav out my husband Craig. I am not sure where I would be without him, would be quite boring that I do know. He has a way of making the best of even the worst moments. Just one silly antic can turn my frown upside down. He is a very giving man, I am so grateful for his wit, his loving way and for the fact that he puts up with someone like me!

Thank you to all of my family members and many friends for being such a large part of my life. If a person is measured by the number of loved ones that they have, well let me tell you I fare pretty darned well. I have no real count as to how many folks that I can call friend, but I know that each and every one of them I do know by name!

Moral of the story is; don't wait for a holiday to let those that you are thankful for know just how thankful that you are. Take a moment each and every day to let at least one of them know!
