Change can be a good thing

Posted Monday, May 2, 2011, at 12:19 PM

It is simply amazing how we think that things are working just great until something new replaces it!

I was under the impression that all dishwashers were to sound as though they were picking up and scooting right out the door while gushes of water can be heard throughout the house. I have a hard time hearing whether or not the new one is running. I find myself running into the kitchen all frantic because I was sure that I had forgotten to turn it on.

I have always had fine, limp hair. One of the traits that I only share with the males in my family, as the majority of females that I call relatives have nice thick hair. Trying to put a bit of a curl or even wave in my hair had seemed impossible and very frustrating. Lo and behold I found out that using a curling iron that is about ten years old doesn't do much for giving my head of hair any kind of body. I am now the proud owner of a bright shiny new curling iron that puts pretty curls in my hair! The curls don't last all that long because remember my hair is very fine...but to be able to spend a portion of my morning all curled up, is great!

I am wondering if there is such a thing as sharpeners for fingernail clippers? Nothing worse than trying to carefully clip a fingernail with a dull clipper. Sometimes I think that biting or ripping them off is less painful and more attractive than struggling with a dull one. Purchase a new clipper and my what a difference. I wonder if they consider those little items lethal weapons?

One thing that is truly amazing is the purchase of a new set of eye glasses. Did you know that lines in no-line bifocals is a bad thing? Perhaps you've thought the person who stands before you has a major facial deformity or a huge zit, only to discover it was a chip or flaw in your own old glasses.

So, before you decide that this is the way it is when it comes to inanimate objects, go out and try something new, you too may be amazed.
