Craft sale to be held Dec 4-6, proceeds to benefit Shayla Bee Fund

Posted Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at 4:49 PM

Help raise money for the Shayla Bee Fund group by attending the 3rd annual Craft & Bake Sale on December 4th, 5th and 6th. The Shayla Bee group is a group that was formed as a living memorial to Shayla Kaye Rohrbaugh who was born with Schizencephaly, she passed away at the young age of 6. The group now helps other children battling with an illness by donating funds to benefit "working class families with a child in medical crisis." Ninety-eight percent of funds from the craft sale will go to help sick children and their families.

Everything from blankets and dish cloths to wall hangings and Christmas ornaments. Many others donate baked goods and homemade candy, which is arranged as a variety of assorted holiday platters.

Come start your Christmas shopping where there is a very large selection of unique gift ideas that you just won't find anywhere else. Plus, all proceeds are donated to the Shayla Bee Fund. 98% of the money donated to Shayla Bee will benefit "working class families with a child in medical crisis."

The event will be held at the East end of the Janitors Closet in Spencer. The address is 502 Southmoor Drive, Spencer, Iowa

Dec. 4th and 5th from 9 AM to 5 PM

Dec. 6th from 1 PM to 5 PM

Hey- I grew up in Northcentral Iowa. I attended Iowa State University where I received a B.A. Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and had an emphasis on Child and Family Studies. I moved to Storm Lake in 2008 to work for the Pilot-Tribune, after working for a daily paper in Nebraska. When I'm not busy typing like a mad woman, peering from behind a camera lens or interviewing all sorts of new and exciting people, you can probably find me rollerblading/biking the paved paths of Storm Lake, strumming out a few notes on my guitar, walking numerous dogs all at once in Newell. I am also a member of Faith Bible, a member of the Shayla Bee family, the SL Kiwanis and a longtime member of the Twizzlers Annonymous Support group. Wink Wink.
