Football, racing and other tidbits

I'm so happy. Football is starting to crank up. I've already sat and watched 4 preseason games that don't mean a darn thing, and enjoyed each and every one of them. I can't wait for the regular season to start.

Brett is back with the Vikings, but I have this dreadful feeling in my gut that they aren't going to be as good as last year. I have to say, it was amazing seeing E.J. Henderson playing middle linebacker again for the Vikings after breaking his femur last year against the Cardinals. What an amazing feat, getting back to the action when a lot of people thought his career was over. He looked pretty much like the old Henderson last night against the 49's, blowing up the running game on more than one occasion.

While I can't stand Kyle Bush much as a person (he's a tad too high on himself for my tastes), I've got to give him credit as a race car driver. Kyle managed to do something no one has ever done in NASCAR's history, he swept the weekend of racing at Bristol, winning in all three of the major series, and at arguably the hardest track on the circuit. Wednesday night, he came from a last place start (he actually won the pole, but had to move to the back because they changed something on his truck), to easily win the truck race. Friday night, he won the Nationwide Series race, and Saturday night, made it look relatively easy in winning the Cup race. I've got to admit, the dude can drive race cars (and trucks) pretty darn well. Now, if he could just tame the attitude a bit.

Six months ago, I would never have thought I'd say this, but I'm sick of all the hot weather. 90+ degrees and high humidity just aren't my cup of tea. Does anyone know of a place where the temperature is a nice 75 degrees year round? Preferably not in hurricane country. I'm actually looking forward to fall. I love when the trees change colors.
