It's been awhile...

Actually, a lot of what I'd like to complain about would either get myself or my employers in trouble, so I have to temper my thoughts and just let things slide by.

While I don't agree 100% with Arizona's new immigration law, someone has to do something sometime. Will it cause racial profiling? Probably. Does racial profiling already exist? If you think no, you're fooling yourself. So, while Arizona finally decided it was time to draw a line in the sand, the uproar from people opposed to the law can be heard all around the world.

Most people agree that something needs to be done about illegal immigrants. They do consume a lot of resources without giving much back. Question is, what do we do about it? Do the people that are voicing their disgust with Arizona have a better idea? If they do, why aren't they letting us know what it is?

I'm guessing they don't have any better ideas, but it's hard not to voice your opinion about something you feel is wrong. Isn't there an old saying about people and opinions? If people spent as much time trying to help solve the problems as they do complaining about them, maybe we could get some of the problems fixed.

Wouldn't that be a new and interesting standard to set in this country?

I admit, I have no answers. I think no matter what you do to try and solve this problem, there will be someone crying foul. Maybe if the government made becoming a citizen a process that doesn't take such a long time to accomplish, more illegal immigrants would be willing to become legal.

I'm just a middle aged, lower middle class (very low), high school educated person who works for my money, pays my taxes and bills, and tries to muddle through life without causing too much trouble. What do I know about fixing a problem this big?
