A show about commercials with commercials?Posted Monday, February 8, 2010, at 1:42 PM
I understand the idea behind "The Greatest Super Bowl Commercials", but is it necessary to have commercial breaks for a show about commercials? Couldn't the companies that were going to have their commercials in the show have just sponsored the show? Is it really necessary to have commercial breaks when all you're showing is freaking commercials? Talk about greedy.
Congrats to the New Orleans Saints on their Super Bowl win. Nice to see that a quarterback as great as Peyton Manning can make a bad decision that more than likely cost the Colts the game. Ironically, he was intercepted by the same defensive back that intercepted Favre and ended the Vikings hope of a trip to the Super Bowl just 2 weeks earlier. Kismet maybe? Or maybe it just shows that ANY quarterback can make a bad decision when the pressure is on. I'm guessing Mardi Gras has already started in New Orleans. I have to admit, the city needed this. I'm not sure Hollywood could have scripted a better ending to the NFL season. I'm putting my vote in for this year's best Super Bowl commercials. My two favorites were both Doritos commercials. The little kid that slaps the dude who's come to pickup his mom was a riot. And the dog collar that keeps the dog from barking, that one had me laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath. Nice work by whoever submitted those two. I've watched 4 hockey games on CBS's Game of the Week this year. All 4 have gone to overtime, 3 have ended on shootouts. All were great games with some of hockey's best players in the spotlight. Has me itching for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Might even have to watch the hockey games in the Olympics this year, since the NHL is taking a break for the Olympics so it's players can play for their countries. Should be some bang-up games to watch. My youngest daughter turns 16 today (Monday Feb. 8th). I'm starting to feel really old. I have a 23 year old daughter and a 21 year old son that both live with me still (can someone please get them to leave?), and now my baby is turning into a beautiful young woman. Sigh. It's great to watch them grow up, but it seems like it takes no time at all for them to become adults and only need you when they get their car stuck in the snow. Just part of the whole parenting trip I guess. I couldn't be any prouder of the three of them. That's all for this week, 'til next time..... |
