Veterans make topnotch employees (08/18/16)
Politicians call them heroes and strangers thank them for their service. But when their enlistment comes to an end, veterans need more than a pat on the back as they return to civilian life. We are all deserving of this. I have seen too many people in the past weeks forget about respect. We are all doing the best that we can...
Why volunteer use of the fire station makes sense (08/11/16)
Greetings. I am writing this letter in regards to the usage of the Alta Fire Station by department members that has been brought to the forefront over the last couple of months. I would like to clear up a few things. First and foremost, the "private parties" that are held at the station by the members occur about 15 times per year and include family holiday gatherings, graduation parties for our junior firefighter members as they graduate high school, and baby showers and birthday parties for the next generation of volunteer firefighters. ...
